Privacy Protocol

Last Modified: June 2026

// 1. DATA_MINIMIZATION

Open Science Lab is designed to be a frictionless, educational platform. You do not need to create an account, register, or provide any personal identification (such as name, email address, or billing info) to explore the periodic table or use the 3D molecule builder.

// 2. SYNTHESIS_LOGGING

When you perform a chemical synthesis check (e.g. hitting the validate button in the Molecule Builder), our engine logs the combinations of elements (the atomic formula, e.g. H₂O) anonymously. This logic is used to compile statistical metrics for our dashboard (such as total compounds validated) and to train and refine our chemical parsing databases. No IP address, location data, or browser identifiers are associated with these logs.

// 3. ANALYTICAL_TRACKERS

We use Google Tag Manager (GTM) and Google Analytics (GA4) to collect aggregate, anonymous usage statistics (such as page views, device categories, and bounce rates) to help us optimize page speed and layout. This data is collected in an aggregated format and does not identify individual visitors.

// 4. THIRD_PARTY_AI_NODES

To generate detailed educational compound insights, the app queries an AI analysis server. Only the chemical formula and atomic ratios are sent to the AI processing layer (e.g., OpenAI API). No user identifiers are included in these requests.
